The now internationally renowned (24th) Sheffield Doc/Fest, running from June 9-14th, included a record 250 screenings at 14 screens across the city attended by over 200 filmmakers, producers and commissioners, among them the Zoomin Studios representative, yours truly Richard Chambers.
It was, not surprisingly and intense few days, often in Blustery conditions, across this impressive Victorian City.
The highlights included some amazing films, great curries and most importantly, a series of young film maker meetings – called the ‘Meetmarket’ hosted over two days in the glorious surrounding of the Cutler’s Hall. I think I must have spent 20 mins with at least 20 different teams from all over the Globe.
In the midst of all this, I managed to find time to see a few broadcasters and major producers (though not nearly as many as I would have liked) and I also, one day, hopped down to London on a train to sit on a panel at the Media Production show in London to discuss Zoomin Studios Gen Z-related content. More from that event from the other Studios members who were there.
